The Maharashtra government, in collaboration with the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM), is set to host Asia’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) event, Mumbai Tech Week (MTW). Scheduled to take place from February 24 to March 1, 2025, the event aims to position India as a global leader in AI innovation and technology.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, highlighting Mumbai’s contribution to India’s economy, emphasised the significance of technology in driving growth. “With Mumbai contributing 4% to India’s GDP as its largest economic centre, the Government of Maharashtra understands the critical role of technology in sustaining growth. Mumbai Tech Week 2025 offers a platform for actionable insights and forward-thinking discussions on AI. By partnering with TEAM, we aim to strengthen Mumbai’s position as a global AI leader by supporting talent, infrastructure, investment, and innovation,” Fadnavis said.
The event will bring together an impressive roster of policymakers and industry leaders. Notable speakers include Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister for Railways and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Former Minister of State for Electronics & IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar will also participate, alongside industry heavyweights such as Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Jio Star Vice Chairman Uday Shankar, and Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani.
The event will also feature prominent tech leaders such as Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce India; Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President and Head of India at Meta; and Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India & South Asia. The spotlight will extend to unicorn founders like Kunal Shah (CRED), Peyush Bansal (Lenskart), Bhavish Aggarwal (OLA), Ritesh Agarwal (OYO), and Aadit Palicha (Zepto).
The week-long event will be divided into two segments. From February 24 to February 27, 2025, satellite events across Mumbai will include workshops, hackathons, and other engaging activities. The main conference, featuring keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, and networking sessions, will be held from February 28 to March 1, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC.
Mumbai Tech Week has consistently raised the bar for technology conferences in India. Its 2024 edition attracted over 4,000 participants and featured more than 50 distinguished speakers from around the globe. With the 2025 event promising even greater scale and participation, it aims to further cement India’s position as a hub for AI innovation.
