Pushpa: The Rule, dubbed Pushpa 2, has set a new benchmark in Indian cinema, becoming the first film to have the biggest opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The film has amassed a net collection of more than ₹800 crore over the weekend, according to Sacnilk, a Bollywood movie data company.

Sacnilk’s projections suggest the movie's total collections could surpass ₹870 crore by the end of the first week, cementing its status as a box-office juggernaut and reinforcing the growing appeal of South Indian cinema both among domestic and international audiences.

Compared to Pushpa 1, which achieved a cumulative worldwide collection of ₹350 crore, its sequel, Pushpa 2, has more than doubled the figure already, beating its own box office record.

The gross collection of Pushpa 1 at-home stood at ₹313.8 crore, with an overseas collection of ₹36.3 crore. The film reportedly was made with a budget of ₹200 crore. Sukumar's Pushpa 2, the sequel to the first blockbuster, is speculated to have been produced on a budget twice as large as its predecessor, estimated at ₹400-500 crore. Lead actor Allu Arjun reportedly charged a hefty ₹100 crore for reprising his role as the protagonist.
