Angel One today said it has started rolling out U.S. stock investing for the investors on its app. Aided by regulation allowing international investing from GIFT City, the move is aimed at capitalising diversification needs and exposure to wide ranging themes.

“Interest among Indian investors in global markets has been growing, driven by the wish to diversify beyond domestic equities and to get exposure to themes such as AI, cloud computing and semiconductors, where many of the leading companies are listed in the US,” Angel One said in a release.

“Following IFSCA’s approval for brokers to offer international investing from GIFT City, Angel One has now started rolling out US stock investing on its app,” it added.

“Indian investors can buy stocks and ETFs listed in the US alongside their Indian portfolio. These include well-known names such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Nvidia, as well as companies such as Netflix, Spotify and Toyota,” it added.

In the U.S. investors can hold fractional shares, and the same will be applicable to the Indian investors investing in the U.S. “Fractional investing allows investors to buy a part of a share instead of a full one. The facility is currently available to a few users and will be extended to all users by mid-November,” the release added.

“Investors can fund their account directly from Kotak, HDFC, ICICI, Axis and IDFC First Bank. Account opening, maintenance, deposits and withdrawals are free of charge. Brokerage is waived till December 2026 and will be 0.1% per trade (minimum $0.99) from January 2027. Regulatory charges, GST and bank FX rates apply,” it said.

“Investments are made under RBI’s LRS rules, and US securities carry SIPC protection of up to $500,000 on eligible assets. With this, Angel One has joined existing providers in providing US investing to investors,” it added.
