Despite contributing just 1% to the $200 billion global market, India houses 16-17% of the global gaming community. At the India Gaming Show last month, Rajan Navani, Founder & CEO of JetSynthesys, spoke to Fortune India to highlight India's potential in the global video gaming industry. He said India's video gaming industry is set to see double-digit growth in 5-10 years.
Navani, who is also President of the Indian Digital Gaming Society (IDGS), emphasised India's evolving mid-core gaming sector and the rising esports industry, which is creating new livelihoods for gamers as creators.
Navani sees artificial intelligence (AI) as a game-changer, which he said will improve productivity and offer personalised gaming experiences. He said that Pune-based JetSynthesys, a major player in India's esports industry, aims to leverage Indian talent and global partnerships to boost the country's position in the gaming world.
