Executive Director, Heritage Foods LtdAbout
Leading Heritage Foods through innovation, Brahmani Nara considers technology critical to every part of the company’s business operation. “We have a very rigorous and disciplined framework—the Heritage Innovation—through which we screen all innovations that happen in the organisation,” she says. In FY26, the company reported revenues of `4,526 crore, a 9.5% growth year-on-year. The value-added portfolio, including ghee, paneer, curd, butter and flavoured milk, contributed 33.25%. The goal is to reach over 50% by 2030, says Brahmani. The company acquired a 51% stake in Mumbai-based Peanut Butter and Jelly Pvt Ltd, which owns Get-A-Way Ice Cream & Desserts, in October last year, for `9 crore. Brahmani sees a demand-supply gap for milk and milk products in the domestic market. The company has rolled out schemes to help farmers secure high-quality animal feed and subsidised artificial insemination programmes to improve both quality and quantity of procurement. She credits her mother-in-law Bhuvaneswari Nara, who is also the vice chairperson and MD, for lessons on empathy, humility and rootedness, required of a leader. “She made me realise the importance of going to the field and spending time with stakeholders on the farm, in the factory and in the market.” She also draws inspiration from her cinematic roots, and counts her grandfather, the legendary Telugu star and politician N.T. Rama Rao, as her all-time favourite actor.
