Lakshmi Venu, daughter of Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) chairman & MD Mallika Srinivasan and TVS Motor Company chairman emeritus Venu Srinivasan, believes power has the ability to create a positive impact. She says her mother has been an incredible role model and has taught her the importance of recognising and valuing diverse perspectives. “Her ‘can-do’ spirit is truly inspiring, instilling in all of us the belief that with determination and a positive outlook, any challenge can be overcome,” she says. TAFE exports tractors to more than 80 countries, but Venu’s greatest motivation is the impact it has on the country’s farmers. On handling dissent, Venu says it’s important to understand the ‘why’ behind different viewpoints rather than perceiving them as dissent. “A diversity of perspectives, when discussed constructively, often leads to the best outcomes.”
