In 2013, when the husband-wife duo was contemplating founding a data analytics startup, they tried hard not to be deterred by the obvious obstacle. “What if it doesn’t click? Financially, it is a risk as one of us needs a steady job,” recalls Singh. Today, Tracxn, which began as a startup database for venture capital firms, has over 60 Fortune 500 companies spread across 35 countries on its client list. The Bengaluru-based firm has a team of 800 people to track over a million companies globally, covering a wide range of sectors including emerging technologies such as blockchain, robotics, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things . The U.S. alone accounted for 50% of its revenue last year.
