About

Mega deals, including the Reliance-Disney one, rules under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and a restructuring of the board of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co were some of Pallavi Shroff’s key achievements in the past year. “One of the major things I focussed on this year was transformation within the firm. We expanded our management board to nine. We are four Shroffs and five other partners. The restructuring is now complete,” says Shroff. “We have been doing a lot of work for Meta (Facebook). The draft rules under Data Protection Act are in place. We are putting together comments, with the idea that it works for everyone, and compliance is possible.” Shroff says there’s a new trend of foreign companies wanting to list their subsidiaries in India. “Hyundai has happened, now LG is doing it. I see it as a sign of more confidence in India. India will keep growing. It is now time for us to be the one, and not China+1. We have it all going for us now.”
