Pallon Mistry
Director, Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) and Company LtdAbout
For decades, the Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group has been known for engineering excellence, iconic construction projects and a low-profile business culture. The responsibility of guiding the 160-year-old group into its next phase is now on Pallon Mistry, son of group chairman Shapoor Mistry. As a board member across several SP Group companies, Pallon represents a new leadership style that combines operational discipline with financial prudence. Alongside cousins—Firoz and Zahan—sons of his uncle, the late Cyrus Mistry, Pallon is helping shape the conglomerate’s long-term strategy, with a primary focus on reducing debt. After years of high borrowings, the SP Group has pursued a comprehensive turnaround through asset monetisation, refinancing and disciplined capital allocation. The objective is clear—reduce debt and improve cash flows. While the SP Group’s 18.37% holding in Tata Sons continues to anchor the family’s wealth, Pallon’s challenge will be to ensure the group’s operating businesses create sustainable value independently.
