Chairman & MD, TVS Motor CompanyAbout
It's been a full year since Sudarshan Venu was elevated as the chairman of TVS Motor Company, India’s third-largest two-wheeler maker by revenue, and the results have been fairly staggering. In June this year, the company became India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by total sales volume—5.65 lakh vehicles across both domestic and international markets. The company is a market leader in the electric two-wheeler segment as well, comfortably ahead of Bajaj Auto. “During FY26... TVS Motors entered four high-growth categories—urban electric commuting, electric commercial mobility, hyper-sport scooters, and adventure touring—bridging its 40-year racing heritage with sustainable, next-generation mobility,” the company said in its annual report. TVS’s annual revenues grew 30% YoY to `47,270 crore in FY26, while profits rose 37% to `3,615 crore. “Alongside our EV ambitions, we have been moving premium, and the results speak for themselves,” Venu said in the annual report. “The road ahead is unpredictable, complex and exciting. Our geographic diversification, technology depth, and presence in markets where mobility is essential rather than optional give us a resilience that is structural and durable,” said Venu, also the MD of holding company TVS Holdings. In April this year, TVS announced a plan to develop electric three-wheelers with S. Korea’s Hyundai Motor.
