India’s biggest hospital chain,which saw its gross revenuetop ₹10,000 crore in FY20, hasbeen at the forefront in thefight against Covid-19. Helmedby Reddy, Apollo Hospitalsallocated over 2,000 bedsfor Covid-19 patients, whichincluded 1,000 ICU beds orabout 15%-20% of its overallcapacity. In total, they treatedclose to 37,000 patients (asof September 14, 2020) andconducted more than 150,000tests. Importantly, ApolloHospitals was able to maintaina mortality rate of less than 1%,when the country’s averagestood at about 1.5%.
