About

At just 15, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s rise has been nothing short of a dream. After becoming the youngest player to earn an IPL contract with Rajasthan Royals for `1.1 crore, he followed it up with a record-breaking IPL campaign, made his way into the Indian team, and rewrote history by becoming the youngest Indian to debut in T20 Internationals. Along the way, he amassed a string of milestones—becoming the youngest men’s T20 centurion, breaking Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in an IPL season, and eclipsing Sachin Tendulkar’s 36-year-old record by making his T20 debut against England at 15 years and 99 days. For marketers, Sooryavanshi represents something much bigger than numbers on a scorecard. “He has broken into the highest level of cricket early and, unlike a one-season wonder, already has two IPL seasons behind him. That gives tremendous credibility to his talent,” says Lloyd Mathias, angel investor and brand strategist. His childhood coach, Manish Kumar Ojha, under whom he trained from 2018 to 2024, recalls recognising the youngster’s exceptional ability almost immediately. “Whenever I introduced a new technique, he adapted almost instantly,” Ojha says. “He has an incredible ability to read bowlers even before they deliver the ball. That anticipation, coupled with immense self-belief, has always been one of his greatest strengths.”
