Vidhi Shanghvi, executive director of India’s largest pharmaceutical company and the world’s fourth-largest specialty generics drugmaker, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, currently leads the company’s consumer healthcare business and India distribution operations. The daughter of founder-chairman Dilip Shanghvi, Vidhi began her career at Sun Pharma in 2012 as a brand manager in the India business. In 2014, she was appointed the marketing head of one of the business units within the cardiovascular division, where she spearheaded improvements in business processes and drove digital transformation initiatives that enhanced operational efficiency. A graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Vidhi took charge as business head of the company’s consumer healthcare division following the merger of Ranbaxy with Sun Pharma in 2015. With a portfolio of flagship brands such as Revital H and Volini, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s distribution footprint across pharmacies, organised retail outlets and e-commerce platforms throughout India. While Sun Pharma does not disclose the size of its consumer healthcare business separately, analysts estimate it to be in the range of `2,000 crore, one of the largest among Indian pharmaceutical companies.
