MD & CEO, Aditya Birla CapitalAbout
When Vishakha Mulye joined the Aditya Birla Group in 2022, her mandate was to reinvent the ‘growth engine’ within the $67 billion conglomerate and to simplify businesses to achieve greater synergies. She envisioned the ‘One ABC, One P&L’ strategy, built on the pillars of ‘One Customer, One Experience and One Team’, which helped reinvent Aditya Birla Capital’s transformative journey of growth and profitability across businesses. Under her leadership, Aditya Birla Capital has built significant scale across financial services by creating a portfolio of high-quality businesses, supported by robust digital capabilities and disciplined execution, transforming itself into a core growth engine for the Aditya Birla Group. Between FY23 and FY26, the company delivered consistent, broad-based growth across businesses while maintaining robust portfolio quality. The total lending portfolio across NBFC and Housing Finance grew at a 30% CAGR to more than ₹2 lakh crore; combined AUM of asset management and insurance businesses grew at a CAGR of 18% to ~₹5.9 lakh crore. Total gross premiums across insurance businesses grew at a 21% CAGR to ₹31,634 crore. Over the last three years, its consolidated PAT (excluding exceptional, one-off items) increased at a 23% CAGR to ₹3,797 crore in FY26. To fulfil its mission of simplifying finance for customers, Mulye doubled down on data, digital and technology to develop three flagship platforms—ABCD, its omnichannel D2C app; Udyog Plus, its B2B digital platform offering business loans, supply chain financing and VAS to MSMEs; and Stellar, the B2D platform for its over 200,000 distributors. Aditya Birla Capital has also been amongst the first movers in deploying AI capabilities at scale by embedding Generative AI into its core financial workflows. Mulye was also instrumental in seamlessly driving the merger of its NBFC business with Aditya Birla Capital to enable better access to capital, operational synergies and enhanced value creation. Under her leadership, Aditya Birla Capital crossed ₹1 lakh crore in market capitalisation in June 2026, reflecting the company's transformative growth over the last four years. Its breadth across segments, combined with a long-term approach to building institutional capability, positions the group well to tap into the next phase of growth in India’s financial services sector.
