Bandhan Bank on Tuesday entered India’s credit card market with the launch of four card variants in partnership with Mastercard, expanding its retail banking portfolio as it seeks to deepen its relationship with its 3.2 crore customers.

The Kolkata-headquartered private sector lender has introduced four cards—Sparks, Ignite, Flare and Lumina—with benefits spanning everyday purchases, travel, dining and entertainment. The launch marks another step in the bank’s evolution as a universal bank, which began operations in its current form in August 2015.

Four variants across spending categories

Sparks offers accelerated rewards on grocery and apparel spending, along with domestic airport lounge access, BookMyShow offers, fuel surcharge waiver and EMI cashback. Ignite is focused on grocery and travel spending and comes with milestone rewards, domestic and international lounge access and EazyDiner benefits.

Flare is positioned around travel, with an Amazon Pay voucher as a welcome benefit, airport lounge access, dining and entertainment offers and golf privileges. Lumina, the most premium offering among the four, provides enhanced rewards on international spending, an Oberoi gift voucher, domestic and international lounge access, concierge and airport meet-and-greet services, besides dining, entertainment and golf benefits.

Digital application, servicing

The bank said customers can apply for the cards through a digital-first process, either online or through its branches. The cards will operate on Mastercard’s payment network.

“The launch of Credit Cards marks a significant milestone in our journey as a universal bank,” Partha Pratim Sengupta, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank, said.

The portfolio, he said, has been designed for “a wide spectrum of customers, from Gen Z and emerging affluent consumers to seasoned travellers and premium lifestyle seekers”, with a focus on digital application and servicing.

Rajinder Kumar Babbar, ED & CBO, Bandhan Bank, said the move would strengthen the bank’s customer-focused product portfolio and bring together digital convenience, rewards and lifestyle benefits.

Mastercard’s Gautam Aggarwal, President, India & South Asia, said India’s credit landscape was changing amid rising digital adoption and evolving consumer expectations. He said the partnership would combine Bandhan Bank’s customer reach with Mastercard’s global network and capabilities.

Bandhan Bank currently operates more than 6,400 banking outlets across 35 of India’s 36 states and Union Territories. Its deposits stood at ₹1.65 lakh crore as of June 2026, while advances were above ₹1.56 lakh crore.
