Walmart-backed digital payments platform PhonePe on Thursday launched PhonePe PulsePro, an enterprise intelligence platform that uses aggregated and anonymised transaction data to provide hyperlocal, near real-time market insights, aiming to help businesses make faster and more informed strategic decisions.
The company said the platform has been developed in response to the growing need for timely and granular market intelligence as consumer and merchant behaviour evolves rapidly.
Unlike traditional survey-based market research, which often relies on samples and historical data, PulsePro is built on actual digital transaction trends, enabling organisations to track changing consumption patterns and respond more quickly.
The platform draws insights from PhonePe's digital payments ecosystem, which includes more than 700 million registered users, over 50 million registered merchants, and coverage across 99% of India's postal codes.
According to the company, the scale of the network allows enterprises to gain a comprehensive view of economic activity across regions and market segments.
PhonePe said PulsePro is designed to support businesses in areas such as expansion planning, distribution strategy, retail network optimisation, site selection and category growth by providing data-driven insights at both macro and hyperlocal levels.
The launch builds on the success of PhonePe Pulse, the company's public data platform introduced in 2021, which is widely used by entrepreneurs, researchers, developers, policymakers and students.
While PhonePe Pulse will continue to remain a free, open-access platform, PulsePro has been developed specifically for enterprise customers seeking deeper business intelligence.
"Businesses today don't just need more data, they need better intelligence. Since launching PhonePe Pulse in 2021, we have seen a growing demand from organisations looking for deeper market insights to guide expansion and strategic decision-making. PhonePe PulsePro is our response to that need," said Karthik Raghupathy, Head of Strategy at PhonePe.
He added that the platform leverages one of India's largest sources of market intelligence while maintaining high standards of privacy through the use of aggregated and anonymised transaction data.
PhonePe said PulsePro offers three key intelligence solutions.
Its Category & Growth Intelligence provides insights into consumer spending patterns, category performance and store format shifts across more than 200 store categories and 100 market signals.
The Retail Network Intelligence module helps businesses identify high-potential markets, optimise distribution networks and evaluate rural and urban expansion opportunities.
Meanwhile, Hyperlocal Intelligence enables site selection and network planning using district- and postal code-level insights, including indicators such as quick commerce penetration.
