T-Hub partners with Indian Army’s Central Command to help defence startups reach field deployment

T-Hub has partnered with the Indian Army’s Central Command to create a direct pathway for defence startups to develop and deploy technologies addressing active military requirements, the Hyderabad-based innovation hub said on Tuesday.
Under the partnership, T-Hub will receive problem statements from the Central Command and identify and select relevant defence startups to work on the challenges. A joint oversight committee will supervise the execution of the programme and engagements between startups and Army stakeholders.
The partnership is aimed at helping defence startups move beyond development and validation towards actual military deployment by giving founders direct access to Army stakeholders and operational requirements.
Startups to work on real military challenges
T-Hub said the initiative will allow founders to develop and validate technologies against practical military challenges, while incorporating operational feedback from Army personnel.
“What founders need is direct engagement with end users to ensure their technologies meet real deployment conditions. This collaboration creates that pathway,” said Kavikrut, CEO, T-Hub.
“This partnership reflects strong confidence in the calibre of Indian defence startups and in Hyderabad’s ability to build technologies that can address critical requirements,” he added.
T-Hub will support founders through product development, validation and market readiness while working with Army stakeholders to ensure solutions meet deployment requirements.
The partnership with Central Command builds on T-Hub’s existing work with the Western Command of the Indian Army. T-Hub said the arrangement makes it one of the select entities in the country with direct relationships at the Command level.
T-Hub has worked with 100+ defence startups
T-Hub said it has engaged more than 100 defence startups and hosted over 70 challenges under the Ministry of Defence-led Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) scheme.
The organisation is among 28 entities selected to implement the iDEX programme and said startups associated with its defence programmes have received commercial defence orders worth more than ₹250 crore.
The startups have also received more than ₹4.2 crore in grants and delivered proof-of-concepts (PoCs) worth ₹9 crore, according to T-Hub.
The organisation said the new partnership will help strengthen the link between defence innovation and field requirements by giving startups a clearer route from identifying a military problem to developing, testing and deploying a solution.
“For defence startups, this means building solutions that reach deployment,” T-Hub said, adding that it would work with Army stakeholders to incorporate operational feedback and meet deployment requirements.
The initiative comes as the government continues to promote indigenous defence technology and greater participation by domestic innovators in addressing the armed forces’ requirements. T-Hub said the partnership will contribute to India’s defence modernisation by creating a direct channel between technology developers and military end users.
