At Tech World India 2025, Lenovo announced that it had manufactured and exported 12 million units from India in the last calendar year. With this milestone, the company expects not only to meet but exceed its target of doubling production, Lenovo stated in a press release.
Lenovo projects a 40% increase in production capacity next year to support both domestic demand and exports. The company is shifting its focus to AI-driven manufacturing, increased R&D investment, and enterprise solutions from India. Lenovo revealed that AI server manufacturing at its Puducherry facility—expanding beyond smartphones, laptops, and PCs—will commence this fiscal year, strengthening India’s role in enterprise AI deployment and cloud computing. Aside from its facility in Puducherry, Lenovo also works with Dixon Technologies.
“Lenovo’s AI vision in India is reflected in its 71% year-on-year revenue growth in the first three quarters of FY 2024-25, with 'Made in India' devices reaching a new high of ₹18,000 crore in CY2024,” said Shailendra Katyal, MD of Lenovo India, at the event.
At Lenovo Tech World India 2025, the global tech giant unveiled AI-powered innovations to accelerate enterprise adoption, digital infrastructure, and India’s AI-first economy. Lenovo also launched its first AI-ready PC under India’s PLI 2.0 policy.
The event featured intelligent devices, transparent displays, creative workshops, and high-octane gaming, offering immersive next-gen experiences. Lenovo Faststart spotlighted AI solutions poised to transform Indian businesses and redefine the country’s sporting landscape. Attendees explored cutting-edge capabilities such as Lenovo AI Now, which enhances real-time computing.
In a previous media appearance, Katyal reportedly stated that Lenovo has begun preparations to manufacture nearly all its personal computer models in India and has achieved 100% local production of Motorola smartphones.
Lenovo India has a workforce of 14,000, with nearly a third of its technical team in R&D—across Moto, the Shared Support Centre, and ISG Innovation Labs—being female. The company is also leveraging AI-powered logistics to enable four-hour delivery across eight Indian markets.
At MWC 2025, Lenovo announced several new products and concepts. The Yoga Solar PC integrates a solar panel with a 24% energy conversion rate for efficient charging. The ThinkBook Flip features a foldable OLED touchscreen for expanded workspace. Lenovo also introduced Magic Bay accessories, including an 8-inch Magic Bay 2nd Display and a Magic Bay Dual Display Concept with dual monitors. The Tiko Concepts include the Tiko Pro, which offers widgets and a teleprompter, and the Tiko Emoji Friend, an AI companion displaying interactive emojis. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 debuted as one of Lenovo’s lightest laptops.
