Nothing’s sub-brand CMF announced its second-generation smartphone Phone 2 Pro, alongside a trio of earbuds – Buds 2, Buds 2 Plus and Buds 2a – on Tuesday. 

Nothing has been the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India for the fifth quarter, seeing 156% year-on-year growth in the first quarter of this calendar year, capturing a close to 1% of market share, according to data from Counterpoint Research.

What is new with the CMF Phone 2 Pro

The CMF Phone 2 Pro features a triple-camera system, including a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom, and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The front houses a 16 MP selfie camera. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor built on TSMC’s 4 nm process, offering a 10% improvement in processing power and 5% better graphics performance compared to its predecessor.

The device sports a 6.77-inch FHD+ flexible AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3000 nits, 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1000 Hz touch sampling rate. It also houses a 5000 mAh battery rated for two days of use. The phone is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, measuring 7.8 mm thick and weighing 185 g, with improved IP54-rated water resistance.

Available in White, Black, Orange, and Light Green, the phone uses varying finishes across models, including frosted glass-like textures and a sandstone back panel. The Phone 2 Pro retains modular features and will be compatible with upcoming accessories such as a Universal Cover, Interchangeable Lenses (Fisheye and Macro), and a Wallet/Stand.

CMF Phone 2 Pro is priced at ₹17,999 for the 8+128 GB model and ₹19,999 for the 8+256 GB variant, inclusive of bank and exchange offers. A special launch day price on May 5 will see the models available at ₹16,999 and ₹18,999, respectively. Buyers will also get an additional ₹1,000 exchange bonus and ₹1,000 bank discount on launch day. The phone will be sold via Flipkart, Flipkart Minutes, Vijay Sales, Croma, and other retail outlets starting May 5.

CMF also introduced its 2025 earbuds lineup. Buds 2a is an entry-level model priced at ₹2,199, featuring 42 dB ANC and a 12.4 mm bio-fibre driver. Buds 2 is positioned mid-range at ₹2,699 and includes Dirac Opteo tuning, 48 dB hybrid ANC, and spatial audio. Buds 2 Plus, priced at ₹3,299, supports Hi-Res LDAC audio and hearing compensation with full EQ customisation. 

The earbuds will be available in India by the end of Q2 2025, while CMF Phone 2 Pro accessories will launch soon.
