It’s that time of the year again when smartphone launches are frequent, but only a select few manage to stand out — and OnePlus continues to be one of them. After unveiling its flagship OnePlus 13s starting at ₹54,999, the Chinese smartphone maker has now refreshed its mid-premium Nord series with the launch of the new Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. Alongside the smartphones, OnePlus also introduced its latest audio offering, the Buds 4, in India.
The Nord CE 5 caters to the budget-conscious buyer with a more affordable price tag, while the Nord 5 delivers a more premium experience with higher-end specifications. Here’s a closer look at what sets these new devices apart.
Starting from ₹24,999, the Nord CE 5 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex, launched earlier in June, with a 6.77" FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and a 7,100mAh with 80W fast charging. The phone has a 50MP rear (Sony LYT-600) and 16MP front camera with up to 12GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable to 1TB). The Nord CE 5 has a IP65 rating, large vapor chamber cooling, gaming support up to 120fps.

As India continues to be the world’s fastest-growing major economy, Fortune India presents its special issue on the nation’s Top 100 Billionaires. Curated in partnership with Waterfield Advisors, this year’s list reflects a slight decline in the number of dollar billionaires—from 185 to 182—even as the entry threshold for the Top 100 rose to ₹24,283 crore, up from ₹22,739 crore last year. From stalwarts like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and the Mistry family, who continue to lead the list, to major gainers such as Sunil Mittal and Kumar Mangalam Birla, the issue goes beyond the numbers to explore the resilience, ambition, and strategic foresight that define India’s wealth creators. The more expensive OnePlus Nord 5 may have its battery at a lower end in comparison with the Nord CE 5, the former has a sharper 6.83" 1.5K OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the price tag of ₹31,999 onwards is justified with the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and a storage space of up to 512GB UFS. The rear camera capabilities remain the same but comes with a better video of 4K 60fps Ultra HDR quality. Built with Gorilla Glass 7i, Nord 5 still comes with a plastic back.
Meanwhile, the Buds 4 come with a dual-driver setup (11mm woofer + 6mm tweeter), adaptive ANC up to 55dB, up to 45 hours battery life with case (ANC off), 11 hours with a 10-minute charge, IP55 rating, and low latency (47ms), with AI-powered call noise reduction and gesture controls.
With this launch, OnePlus is targeting both value seekers and performance-focused users in the mid-range smartphone segment, while also strengthening its audio portfolio.
Given both the mobile phones are Amazon Specials, the Nord CE 5 will be on sale from July 12, while the Nord 5 will be available from July 9 on the ecommerce platform. Meanwhile, the smart earpieces Buds 4 are starting at ₹5,999 and will be available from tomorrow.
