Schneider Electric and Apple have introduced a smart thermostat and a wall-mounting accessory for Apple's HomeView smart-home display, expanding their collaboration in home energy management. The Power Mount accessories will be available in India, while the companies have not announced an India launch date for the thermostat.

The products will be part of Schneider Electric's Schneider Home portfolio and Apple's Home Collection. The announcement was made in New York on October 13.

Preeti Bajaj, executive vice-president of Schneider Electric's Home Solutions Division, represented the company at the launch event alongside Thomas Millas, its communications leader for North America.

In a LinkedIn post, Bajaj said the collaboration brings together Schneider Electric's expertise in energy technology and Apple's connected-device ecosystem. She said the partnership was aimed at making life simpler for homeowners by integrating energy technology with connected-home experiences.

Smart thermostat, Power Mount target connected homes

The new Smart Thermostat, developed in collaboration with Apple, allows users to adjust temperatures through Siri and the Apple Home app. It supports optional Room Sensors that monitor conditions such as temperature and humidity. The thermostat also works with Apple's Clean Energy Guidance feature through EnergyKit, which uses grid forecasts to help users manage energy consumption. The feature is currently available only in the contiguous United States.

The companies have also introduced the Power Mount for Apple's HomeView wall-mounted display. It will be available in three configurations: USB-C Wall Connector, AC-wired and Power over Ethernet (PoE). The mounts use magnets to hold the display in place, while the wired options allow installation with concealed cables.

Customers in India can order the USB-C and AC-wired versions through Apple.com. The AC-wired version will arrive in India later, while retail-store availability for the mounts is scheduled to begin on November 13. The PoE version is expected to be available early next year.

In the US, the USB-C, AC-wired and PoE versions are priced at $59.99, $79.99 and $129.99, respectively. The thermostat and Room Sensors will be available in the US and Canada from early 2027, priced at $199.99 and $39.99, respectively.

“The smartest home is one where every part works together, and that’s only possible through technology that enables energy intelligence,” Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum said.

Apple vice-president of Hardware Engineering Matthew Costello said the products bring Schneider Electric's energy expertise into Apple Home, with privacy at the core of the experience.
