Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference 2026 will take place from June 8 to June 12, with a keynote at Apple Park and the rest of the sessions largely online. The event is expected to focus heavily on artificial intelligence as Apple looks to sharpen its competitive edge in the AI race.
Early signals from the WWDC 2026 teaser suggest that a major overhaul of Siri will be the centrepiece. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in his PowerOn newsletter, the company is working on a redesigned Siri interface that integrates directly into the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. The interface is expected to feature a “Search or Ask” prompt along with a glowing cursor, indicating a shift towards a more conversational, chatbot-like experience.
Reports indicate that Siri will receive deeper AI capabilities, including the ability to handle multi-step queries, maintain conversational context, and integrate more tightly with apps and on-device data. The upgrade is seen as part of Apple’s broader “Apple Intelligence” push, aimed at competing with offerings from Google and OpenAI.
The new Siri may also be offered through a standalone app, allowing users to revisit past interactions and switch between voice and text seamlessly—bringing it closer to modern AI assistants. Alongside Siri, Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27, macOS 27, iPadOS 27, and updates across its ecosystem, with deeper AI integration across devices.
Separately, early leaks around the iPhone 18 Pro Max suggest Apple is continuing to experiment with hardware changes alongside its software push. Reports indicate the device could feature a more refined under-display Face ID system, reducing reliance on the Dynamic Island, along with upgrades to its on-device AI processing capabilities. There is also speculation around improved thermal management and a more powerful neural engine, aimed at supporting the next wave of AI-driven features expected to roll out across Apple’s ecosystem.
In terms of colour options, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could arrive in Light Blue (Pantone 2121), Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076), Dark Grey (Pantone 426C), and Silver (Pantone 427C) colour variants.
