Xiaomi India has introduced its global home and lifestyle sub-brand, Mijia by Xiaomi, in India as the company looks to strengthen its presence in the country’s connected home segment and expand into large appliances
The launch comes as Xiaomi completes 12 years in India and marks the next phase of its “Human × Car × Home” strategy, under which the company aims to build an integrated ecosystem of smartphones, tablets, smart TVs and home appliances connected through Xiaomi HyperOS.
Going forward, Xiaomi said all its home and lifestyle products in India will be sold under the Mijia by Xiaomi branding, joining the company’s existing Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco brands. The sub-brand will house future home and lifestyle products, including upcoming large appliances.
The company said Mijia’s introduction reflects its long-term strategy of expanding beyond smartphones and consumer electronics into a broader connected home ecosystem, with future products aimed at offering seamless interoperability across devices powered by Xiaomi HyperOS.
“Over the past 12 years, Xiaomi has continuously evolved alongside Indian consumers, expanding from smartphones into a broader consumer technology portfolio. The introduction of Mijia by Xiaomi marks an important milestone in strengthening the Home dimension of our global Human × Car × Home strategy in India and reflects our long-term commitment to the market,” said Sudhin Mathur, chief operating officer, Xiaomi India.
Mathur added that the company aims to make its connected ecosystem “more intelligent, intuitive and seamless” as it expands its smart home offerings in the country.
As part of the expansion, Xiaomi said it will deepen its presence in existing home categories such as air purifiers while strategically entering the large appliances segment under the Mijia brand. The company said the expanded portfolio will offer tighter integration across devices to deliver a more connected user experience.
Founded in 2010, Xiaomi has built its business around smartphones and AIoT products. Globally, the company reported around 718.8 million monthly active users and 943.7 million connected AIoT devices as of March 2025. Xiaomi states that its products are available in more than 100 countries, and the company was ranked 232nd in the Fortune Global 500 list in July 2026.
