The KTM 390 Adventure R is a new addition to the KTM R lineup as a middleweight adventure motorcycle

KTM launched the international-spec KTM 390 Adventure R, priced at ₹ 3,77,915 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India today.
The KTM 390 Adventure R is a new addition to the KTM R lineup as a middleweight adventure motorcycle. The motorcycle has a 399 cc engine, long-travel adjustable suspension, and a true rally wheel setup, with a 21-inch front wheel.
The bike comes with advanced electronics, including Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Cornering ABS, and Offroad ABS. With OFF-ROAD Ride Mode, riders can switch to a setting that allows controlled rear-wheel slip for loose terrain such as sand, gravel, and mud. OFF-ROAD ABS enables rear-wheel lock-up for corner entry, while the system retains settings even after engine stall or shutdown.
A 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination, paired with 230 mm of fully adjustable WP suspensionw would help the rider for better stability on trails.
The KTM 390 Adventure R features a 5-inch full-colour TFT display, offering visibility in all lighting conditions and a layout designed for quick information access. Riders can customise on-screen data via the multi-functional handlebar switch, while a USB Type-C port comes fitted as standard for charging devices on the go.
With KTMconnect, the motorcycle connects to the rider’s smartphone, enabling phone calls, music playback, and optional turn-by-turn navigation directly through the TFT display.
Speaking on the announcement, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd. said, “The KTM 390 Adventure R represents the purest expression of KTM’s rally and off-road DNA in the middleweight adventure segment. By bringing the international-spec model to India, we are offering adventure enthusiasts a machine that delivers confidence everywhere - on the road, off the road, and beyond.”
The KTM 390 Adventure R is it cheaper than the standard 390 Adventure S with spoked wheels, which is priced at ₹3.97 lakh. The lower price is due to the use of tube-type spoke wheels in place of the tubeless setup.
The Adventure R stands apart mainly due to its suspension and wheel setup, which takes inspiration from the export-spec Enduro R. The WP Apex suspension offers 230mm of travel at both ends, up from 200mm at the front and 205mm at the rear on the standard version, improving control and damping off-road.
