Tesla Model Y priced at ₹59.89 lakh in India: Here’s how it compares with rivals

Elon Musk-led Tesla opened bookings for its most popular electric SUV, the Model Y, in India on Tuesday. The price for the base variant, which comes with a claimed range of 500 kilometres, starts at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The 'Long Range' trim, which offers 622 km of range, is priced at ₹67.89 lakh. Tesla is offering the Full Self-Driving feature (FSD) at an additional cost of ₹6 lakh.

Model Y’s base variant can go from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the Long Range trim takes 5.6 seconds.

BYD Sealion 7

BYD’s electric SUV Sealion 7, launched in India earlier this year, is priced starting from ₹48.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The BYD Sealion 7 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 secs in the Performance trim, and the Premium, does the same in 6.7 seconds. The BYD SEALION 7 Performance has a claimed range of 542 km and the Premium can go 567 kms on a full charge. The Performance takes the power figure to 390 kW and torque to 690 Nm. The Premium variant makes 230 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque.

Kia EV 6

South Korean mass-premium carmaker Kia’s EV6 is priced starting from ₹65.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV6 comes with 84-kWh battery pack and delivers a claimed range of 663 km on a single charge. The vehicle offers a dual-motor setup with power output of 242 kW and 605 Nm of torque. The claimed 0-100 km/h time is 5.3 seconds.

Powered by a 66.4 kWh battery, the EV offers a claimed range of up to 531 km on a single charge. The front-wheel drive car delivers 150 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 175 km/h.
