Vikrampati Singhania, the MD of JK Fenner India Limited, has taken over as the President of the Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA) from Shradha Suri Marwah, the CMD of Subros Limited, for the 2025–26 term, the industry body of automobile components, it said on Monday. It has also appointed Sriram Viji, Managing Director, Brakes India Private Limited, as President Designate.

“The appointment of Vikrampati Singhania as President and Sriram Viji as President Designate comes at a decisive moment for our industry. The auto component sector is navigating geopolitical volatility, supply chain realignments, and accelerating electrification,” Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, said in a statement. “I am confident that under their stewardship, ACMA will further our industry’s vision of building a resilient, sustainable, and future-ready mobility ecosystem.”

According to Singhania, with exports crossing record highs and EV adoption reshaping the market, the task at hand is to strengthen resilience and competitiveness. “We must deepen localisation, invest in advanced technologies, and embrace sustainability as a core business imperative. Together, with the government’s continued support and our industry’s commitment, we will work towards making India not only self-reliant but also a global leader in the next generation of mobility components,” he said in a statement.

Concurrently, Priya Sachdev Kapur, the widow of former ACMA President and Sona Comstar chairman Sunjay Kapur, has been appointed to the executive committee of ACMA as an invitee member. Sunjay Kapur was the President of ACMA for the 2023–24 term. Although her exact role in the Executive Committee has not been defined, she reportedly will support ACMA’s goals of collaboration, innovation, and fostering the growth of the auto component industry.

The executive committee is the highest decision-making body of ACMA. It is responsible for the direction taken by the industry body, industry programmes, and collaborations with both domestic and international stakeholders. Kapur was also seen at the ACMA’s 65th Annual Convention in New Delhi on Friday, marking her first public appearance since the death of Sunjay Kapur. Kapur passed away in June in a polo match in the UK, while he was the chairman of Sona Comstar. Priya Sachdev Kapur was subsequently appointed to the board as a non-executive director by the shareholders.
