New 4G and 5G models in ₹10,000–15,000 range aim to leverage Fire-Boltt’s 4-crore user base as competition heats up in affordable smartphones

Fire-Boltt has forayed into India’s smartphone market with the launch of boltt, a new Made-in-India smartphone brand, as the wearables company looks to expand into a broader consumer technology ecosystem. The company has committed an initial investment of more than $50 million towards product development, manufacturing, marketing, distribution and ecosystem expansion, with further investments planned in line with market demand. boltt smartphones will be sold through Flipkart alongside offline retail channels across the country.

The company will launch its first two smartphones—one 4G and one 5G model—in the ₹10,000-15,000 price segment. The devices will be unveiled in early August, with commercial availability beginning mid-August, ahead of the festive season. Fire-Boltt is targeting sales of 500,000 to 1 million units within four to five months of launch, banking on its existing ecosystem of over 4 crore users and nationwide distribution network built through its smartwatch, audio and AI wearables business.

The launch comes as competition in India’s affordable smartphone segment intensifies, with homegrown brands looking to capitalise on demand for locally manufactured devices. Earlier this year, AI+ also entered the market with budget smartphones, while established players such as Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo and Realme continue to dominate the segment.

“Over the years, millions of consumers have welcomed Fire-Boltt into their daily lives, helping us build one of India’s largest connected consumer ecosystems. boltt is the next chapter in that journey. Smartphones sit at the heart of how people connect, create, learn, and aspire today, and we believe there is a significant opportunity for a homegrown brand that truly understands Indian consumers,” said Arnav Kishore, Founder & CEO, boltt.

He added, “With boltt, we are bringing together our consumer insights, technology expertise, and commitment to India to create smartphone experiences that are designed for the country and built for its future.”

Commenting on the partnership, Mukund Kedia, Senior Director, Flipkart, said, “Flipkart is deeply committed to make premium smartphone experiences accessible to every consumer across metros and non-metros. With Flipkart’s large distribution scale and reach, coupled with boltt’s portfolio of 4G and 5G devices designed for everyday realities, consumers across the country can now enjoy smartphones that combine durability, performance, and innovation.”

Fire-Boltt said smartphones represent a long-term strategic category for the company as it looks to build a connected ecosystem spanning wearables, smartphones and AI-powered devices. The company said the move marks the next phase of its evolution from a smartwatch brand into a broader consumer technology player.
