Barring the U.S. and China, India is the most vibrant place for entrepreneurs in today’s world, according to Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath. He attributed this to the country’s stable governance and vast market potential.

“Outside of the U.S. and China, India is easily the most vibrant place for entrepreneurs today. A stable government and the ability to reach tens and hundreds of millions—that’s our superpower,” he tweeted Sunday, sharing his experiences of representing India at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Monaco. 

While Kamath didn’t win the award, he took to X to share his reflections, spotlighting the growing prominence of India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards brought together entrepreneurs from over 40 countries, showcasing cultural diversity and shared challenges. Stina Ehrensvärd, the Swedish co-founder of California-headquartered hardware authentication device manufacturer Yubico, won the award this year. Chosen from around 5,000 participants, she is the fourth woman to win the award.

In his tweet, Kamath highlighted common hurdles entrepreneurs face globally, including expanding markets, engaging users, managing talent, and balancing professional and personal commitments.

Despite personal challenges, Kamath reflected positively on his experience. “I didn’t win. As @zerodhaonline, we’re building only for India, with a single source of revenue. I guess the judges were looking for something more global, more diversified. Also, I’m probably too anti-social for something like this—public speaking, networking—especially harder after the stroke last year,” the tweet read.

However, he emphasised that Indian entrepreneurs are increasingly gaining recognition for their resilience and innovative solutions, enabling them to compete on a global stage.

Kamath’s insights align with India’s surge in global entrepreneurial rankings. With a tech-savvy population, growing digital infrastructure, and government initiatives promoting innovation, Indian entrepreneurs are driving transformation across sectors.
