“In air conditioners, we are the clear market leader with around 18% market share in a highly crowded market of nearly 60 brands. Our goal is to improve this to about 20%,” Menon said in an interaction with Fortune India.

In the broader appliances segment, including refrigerators and washing machines under the Voltas Beko portfolio, the company currently has below 10% market share but claims to be the fastest-growing brand.

“In appliances, we are the fastest-growing brand, though our market share is still below 10%. We aim to ramp this up to the 15-20% range,” he said, while speaking on the sidelines of the company’s Summer 2026 portfolio launch.

“The AC category is expected to grow 15-20% over the next summer season, supported by a low base and forecasts of above-normal temperatures. We are well prepared with a new product range to capture this demand,” he added.

The company, which claims leadership in the domestic AC market with around 18% share, also unveiled its Summer 2026 portfolio, led by the AI-enabled Vertis Split AC series — marking a strategic push into intelligent, adaptive cooling solutions tailored for Indian conditions.

The company launched the Vertis AI series, designed to intelligently adapt to changing conditions. Equipped with sensors that monitor temperature, humidity and user behaviour, the AC dynamically adjusts cooling intensity in real time.

The new range also introduces AI Geofencing technology. The system can prepare the room for cooling as the user approaches home and switch off or send alerts if the AC is running while the space is unoccupied, helping reduce unnecessary power consumption.

“For Indian families, all-round comfort is about managing extreme heat with confidence while keeping electricity costs predictable,” Menon said.

“At Voltas, we believe technology must simplify everyday life. With our AI-enabled Vertis Split AC series, we are redefining intelligent and energy-conscious living for Indian homes,” he added.

Jayant Balan, Head of RAC Business at Voltas, said the Summer 2026 portfolio has been crafted around the realities of India’s intense and diverse climate.

“Customers today expect more than cooling performance — they expect intelligent, reliable solutions built for India,” he said, adding that the company is strengthening domestic production capabilities, including developing what it describes as India’s largest air conditioning factory.

He said the company is focusing on designing and manufacturing in India to ensure alignment with local climate conditions, usage patterns and energy priorities, reinforcing its commitment to the Make in India initiative.

“By designing and manufacturing in India, we ensure our products are closely aligned with local climate conditions, usage behaviour and energy priorities. With AI Adaptive Cooling, AI Energy Manager and AI Geofencing, we are transitioning from conventional systems to intelligent solutions that learn, adapt and optimise in real time,” he added.
