Shrey Khanna's way to fitness – investing in the body to achieve a healthy lifestyle

Human beings make several investments throughout life. Quite weirdly, not much of it is aligned towards making themselves healthy. No wonder more than two billion adults are overweight, and 650 million are obese across the globe. Increased consumption of high-calorie foods, which are so readily available, combined with reduced physical activity, can be attributed to the problem.

A Master’s in business Administration (MBA) from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, Shrey has work experience as an Executive Search Consultant who worked in a leadership hiring profile. Quitting his financially stable job to start this startup to help people get fit using their habit-based coaching model, where they not only hand you over a diet and workout, but they make sure you learn new habits and unlearn a few to sustain the progress you have made.

Shrey Khanna's story and his business venture, The Fit Chase, is one honest story of transforming himself from an obese teenager to someone who has maintained this physique effortlessly. And the only thing he realized was, till one does not learn a few behaviors and habits while changing their mindset, it is almost impossible to sustain your progress.

His backstory, he did his certifications and gained science-based knowledge and became a Premium tier coach with Fittr where he coached 1000+ clients personally. His love for coaching and impacting a life, lead to the formation of his startup named The Fit Chase. This paved the way to forming a team of 9 like-minded coaches who are highly experienced and qualified in habit-based coaching and have the ability to teach one about how to embrace fitness as a way of life and not just reach some hypothetical standards of aesthetics in the shortest time possible.

The Fit Chase is an online fitness coaching platform that came into being in 2020, structuralizing the visions of Shrey Khanna for promoting a healthy lifestyle.

As a first step, A Habit and personality questionnaire is given to the client as a first step, which helps the coach understand if the client's setting, food preferences, who cook food at home, what equipment are available, etc. The Coach then conducts the onboarding call, where an in-depth discussion on goal setting and acquisition happens.

After that, the Coach gets back with a nutrition and workout plan that mentions the food to be consumed and the consumption time and quantity. The uniqueness of their programs is that it is entirely home-based food; they do not ask the client to get fancy foods and supplements.

Similarly, their workout plans are customized to the clients' starting strength levels, and they are laid out very well with the right frequency, intensity, and volume for the client to be able to make the most of their workout.

They track progress every week over a video call with a coach. Their unique feature lets coaches maximize facetime with the client to create a real change.

The Fit Chase programs do not encourage any absurd concept of abrupt body transformations overnight. Their dedicated team of highly experienced coaches works closely with each client to understand their goals and provide tailored solutions for long-term fitness and health. With 24*7 virtual support through messages and weekly video calls, the clients find their coaches to be their best friends during the training period. Your coach helps you with anything required, be it recipes, motivation, workout form, or technical analysis, so that you reach from point A to B.

Shrey’s comments, “The Fitness Industry in India is largely scattered & fragmented. The exponential growth proves that this industry is waiting to be organized. As a vulnerable young entrepreneur, the three main driving forces that compel me to take a shot at addressing the gaps within the fitness market at The Fit Chase are:

- Booming industry

- My domain knowledge

- Passion towards the Industry”

Shrey has found that changing the physical structure is not as big of a challenge as shifting someone's mindset in his professional journey. He comments, “We have struggled with selling long-term, sustainable change. People take time to trust a service like this which is intangible and online and a relatively new concept.” Hence the reason for bodily transformations needs to come from a place of loving and accepting the uniqueness of one's body, rather than hating on it and compelling it to look a certain way. Shrey bases his future ventures depending on this psychology; he says, "We plan to get in-depth in client psychology and behavior because we know: irrespective of having the best diets and workout plans, people fail on their fitness journey over and over.”

The Fitness Chase hence stands today as one of the best platforms in the field, and perhaps due to their optimistic mindset, the company has been profitable since day one with a 1.5x quarter-on-quarter revenue growth over the last three quarters. It has successfully catered to over 3000 clients worldwide, boosting their confidence, physical energy, and, most notably, their health.
