Users from the US and Canada can now dial 1-800-ChatGPT or connect via WhatsApp at 1-800-242-8478
Microsoft-backed AI major OpenAI has integrated ChatGPT into Meta’s WhatsApp platform in its ‘12 days of OpenAI’ announcements. OpenAI took to X and shared a video revealing ChatGPT's WhatsApp number and showing users being able to interact with ChatGPT directly on WhatsApp, removing the need for a separate app or account.
It has been launched globally by OpenAI, and users from the US and Canada can now dial 1-800-ChatGPT or connect via WhatsApp at 1-800-242-8478.
The company states that people in the US will get access to 15 minutes of voice calling per month, which will be subject to revisions in the future.
How to begin with ChatGPT on WhatsApp:
Either you can start a new chat by sending a message to +18002428478, or you can scan a QR code available on OpenAI’s support page. There is no need for users to log into an OpenAI account.
ChatGPT is available as a business account on WhatsApp and currently supports only text-based communication, with no voice call option. There is a daily limit on using ChatGPT on WhatsApp, but it has not yet been disclosed. Users will only be notified once they hit the daily usage limit.
The company said it is working on integrating WhatsApp messages with users’ accounts. It also mentioned that this tool was developed just a couple of weeks ago.
OpenAI recently made the ChatGPT search feature available to all users, which was initially introduced in October.
In October, OpenAI completed its latest funding round, reaching a valuation of $157 billion. The company also secured a $4 billion revolving line of credit, boosting its total liquidity to over $10 billion.
