Non performing assets have shown a declining trend over the past 4 years, especially since the peak of ₹10.36 lakh crore in FY18. In FY22, scheduled commercial banks recovered ₹92,564 crore via multiple channels – Lok Adalats, Debt Recovery Tribunals, Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act, and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
