G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant on Friday said India took over the Presidency from Indonesia in the midst of slowing global growth and productivity. “PM Narendra Modi wanted India’s presidency to be inclusive, decisive and action oriented. We had broad priorities when we started,” Kant said during a pre-summit briefing.
Kant listed sustainable and inclusive growth, accelerated sustainable development goal, climate action and climate finance, redesigning the multilateral agencies, technology led poverty alleviation measures and women empowerment as India’s key priority areas during its G20 Presidency.
