Indian manufacturers need to play lead role in semiconductors: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that amid the disruption of the global supply chain, there is no alternative than to become self reliant in semi-conductor manufacturing. Addressing DPIIT webinar on Make in India for the world on Thursday, PM Modi said, "Supply chain disruption has impacted the economy. Semi conductors offer a new opportunity for the purpose of Make in India. We need to be farsighted. India too needs semiconductors. We have seen how electric vehicles have emerged as an attractive option for people and have a positive environmental impact too." Calling for innovations in the segment, PM Modi urged manufacturers to play a lead role in it.
