Nasal spray intended for Covid prevention in the future: SaNOtize CEO
In an interaction with Fortune India, SaNOtize CEO and co-founder Gilly Regev mentions the company's anti-coronavirus nasal spray holds an edge over antiviral pills as it can be used daily, something which is not possible with the latter option. The spray, which uses nitric oxide to kill the virus, can reduce the viral load by 99% in 48 hours. Glenmark, under a licensing agreement with SaNOtize, is marketing the nasal spray in India and a few other Southeast Asian countries.
Although it can be used only by adult Covid-19 patients with a risk of progression of disease, Regev says the company is conducting a large prevention trial with a goal that everyone can use it in the future.
