Pharma exports to Ukraine, Russia a worry; edible oil imports may be hit: FM
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that domestic pharma exports to both Ukraine and Russia are a matter of worry amid the ongoing military conflict between the two nations. During a post-Budget interaction with the industry in Chennai on Monday, Sitharaman said that the government is also assessing the impact of the import of essentials like fertilisers and edible oils from Ukraine. Sitharaman assured the industry that the government is seized of the matter and is also examining situations where the export has already been done and payments awaited. “You can be assured that we are fairly seized of the matter in its granular form,” Sitharaman said to the industry.
