Lucrative Year for iGaming brands and punters: Japneet Singh Sethi

Nothing oozes growth quite like the iGaming industry right now. Ever since the pandemic set sail for a hostile global takeover, it may have all gone awry for most industries; however, in the fiefdom of iGaming, it has been much the opposite.

That is despite the availability of a number of options, all of which are offering something different - whether in terms of bonuses or the on-site features. Naturally, one would be inclined to think as to how can an entire industry that has such a farrago of brands be flourishing. The answer’s simple: the weather’s favourable and they have the winds in their sail, so to speak.

The world’s digital switch might have been ephemeral with COVID-19 set to depart for good sooner rather than later, but it left an eternal impact on sports and online gaming enthusiasts in that they’re now in love with the entire omnium gatherum of fun combined with finances that the iGaming industry has to offer.

Combine this affection with the sporting calendar for 2022 and we’re talking billions for the industry. Starting with the UEFA Nations League (league stages), fans will be treated to the FIFA World Cup and the ICC T20 World Cup this year, plus the domestic leagues among other annual sporting events. It is a year soaked in sports.

Japneet Singh Sethi, Country Manager, Khelraja reckons the beneficiaries won’t just be the brands but the punters, too, who are looking at a feast like no other.

“2022 is a sporting year - if I am allowed to use that term. I look at the previous years and we’ve had our IPLs and World Cups before, like the year just gone by, but 2022 is different. We are seeing so many mega sporting events come around the same time, and it’s not tough connecting the dots.

“It is going to be a lucrative year, this, for both iGaming brands and punters alike. I would say, brands should already be looking at how best to drive attention towards them with unique offers and bonuses and what not. You miss out now and you’d be sat with your hands in head while most big players in the industry cash in.

“In a way, the entire year is Christmas. So if you don’t set your Christmas tree up and light up the house, then what are you even doing?”

Wise words. Even the most wonderful time of the year could turn out to be a busted flush if you don’t get it right. No two ways about it.

Japneet is ex-Parimatch and 4rabet, and is now working on building Khelraja as a Country Manager.
