Meet Sathya Prakash: An insightful Indian Entrepreneur building a million-dollar sustainable cloud-clothing platform

The world economy is facing a challenging situation due to the pandemic, but one particular industry has witnessed an upward graph and also projects strong growth in the future: it is the Yoga and Wellness industry. Sustainable fashion and activewear are a necessity today and a young entrepreneur has already paid heed to this by launching a unique cloud-clothing platform, Yogeek.

Yogeek is a sustainable cloud-clothing platform providing manufacturing support for fashion and activewear brands with bamboo as the primary fabric. However its significance lies far beyond.

The man behind this unique innovative platform, Founder Sathya Prakash, wants to facilitate and support aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their fashion and activewear brands. In his own words, “The Coronavirus pandemic has created opportunities for young Indian talents to outshine and start their sustainable fashion brand. We would be delighted to provide them with a platform where they can easily launch their fashion apparel brand without worrying about the sourcing and manufacturing of the product. Yogeek has the technical expertise and workmanship to manufacture bamboo clothing and other sustainable fabric such as hemp, modal and non-violent silk.”

Sustainable clothing is in huge demand today because of the awareness among people about environmentally conscious clothing choices. For Sathya, it is more a matter of personal choice, which he feels, is important to opt for because it would protect not only the environment but is also rooted in our country’s indigenous fabric dyeing technology using organic and vegetable dyes. Providing a transparent supply chain journey of the cloth makes Yogeek a cutting-edge platform. Besides, going sustainable would provide enough employment opportunities to people and create more entrepreneurs as the popularity of sustainable clothing soars in the world.

With people switching to a sustainable and organic lifestyle, Sathya feels the time is right for the sector to grow. In this regard, he points out that with the anti-China sentiment still holding strong, the chances of global investment in sustainable apparel manufacturing heading to Indian shores are high. India has, no doubt, become a major attraction for global investors seeking manufacturers of sustainable clothing, especially bamboo and organic cotton, and it is the right time to seize the opportunity.

The world is looking for new-age startups, which can not only change the world but also bring in profit. Yogeek and Sathya tick all the right boxes. With India becoming the third largest startup ecosystem in the world, it won’t be long before investors come calling at Yogeek’s doors. He is already in talks with some of the potential venture investors from overseas.

However, that is not all that is going on in this smart brain of his.
A unique, blockchain integrated supply chain is also the brainchild of Sathya Prakash, which, he believes, would prove beneficial in tracking supply chain management and recognizing the authenticity of the product journey. Yogeek will be one of the few companies in the world to integrate blockchain with the supply chain for transparency and provide the same for their clients. Getting every detail related to your purchase of the product would make the process transparent as well as accountable.

Speaking about the new process, he says, “Our unique initiative to launch integrated blockchain technology is to ensure that the transparency between the consumer and the product is maintained where consumers can get all the necessary information regarding the product by just scanning a QR code that cannot be changed and altered by any third party involved. This helps us fulfil our responsibility towards the consumers and the credibility of the product is maintained.”

‘Garpenter’ is a bamboo activewear brand of Yogeek and it is already gaining popularity in Australia and Canada. Garpenter was launched with the flagship product, a black bamboo T-shirt, which proved to be a big hit. Confident of the fact that bamboo is going to replace polyester shortly, Sathya wants the BCCI to take an initiative in this regard and replace the polyester active-wear of our cricket players with bamboo active-wear. He is already working towards raising awareness about the same, and in this regard, Yogeek looks forward to collaborating with the BCCI to design their jerseys with eco-friendly bamboo material and organic cotton.

Garpenter will be expanding its retail stores in London and Dubai. Sathya believes it will provide an investment opportunity for young entrepreneurs who believe in a sustainable world.
