Budget 2023: Declining share of defence in total expenditure

Despite a ₹1.75 lakh crore bigger outlay, the share of defence expenditure in India's total capital expenditure has been shrinking for the past 6 years -- decreasing from 17.8% of total expenditure on ministries in FY17 to 13.31% in FY23.
