Karan Adani, Managing Director, Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd. on Wednesday said that Adani Group will invest ₹33,081 crore in Odisha across three different projects, expected to generate more than 9,700 direct and indirect jobs. These three projects include setting up a data centre in Bhubaneswar, thermal power plant, and a cement manufacturing unit near Cuttack.

“Across these three projects, our total commitment to Odisha stands at ₹33,081 crore, creating a total of 9,700 jobs — direct and indirect — a number that when multiplied through local supply chains and communities, represents a transformation in livelihoods across this region, Adani said while speaking at an event for the inauguration of industrial projects in Odisha.

The first project, a data centre in Bhubaneswar, entails an investment of ₹800 crore and is expected to boost the digital economy while generating around 200 jobs.

The second project is a large thermal power plant near Cuttack, with an investment of ₹30,181 crore. It is likely to create about 7,000 jobs and improve power supply for both industries and households.

The third project, a cement manufacturing unit near Cuttack, involves an investment of ₹2,100 crore and is expected to generate around 2,500 jobs while supporting infrastructure growth.

“Taken together, these projects are a statement of belief. A belief that Odisha is not on the cusp of its moment — it is in it. That the next chapter of India's industrial rise will be written here, in this state, by these people,” he added.

Adani Group’s expanding presence in Odisha

Karan Adani highlighted the company’s expanding footprint in Odisha and reaffirmed its long-term commitment for the state’s growth. He said that the group is not only investing in projects but also playing a role in shaping Odisha’s future as a key economic hub.

“Odisha is no longer a state in transition but one that clearly understands its direction and growth path,” Karan Adani mentioned.

He further said that Odisha is already contributing significantly to India’s economic future and is set to strengthen its position as a major industrial and technological centre, adding that Adani Group considers itself a long-term partner in this journey.

“What makes Odisha's vision credible is that the foundation is real. The resources are here. The people are here. The governance reform is happening,” he added.
