Air India has announced the addition of 174 weekly flights on key domestic and short-haul international routes, operated by its single-aisle aircraft, as part of the Northern Winter Schedule, beginning 26 October 2025. This expansion enhances connectivity to major cities in India and Southeast Asia in high demand.

The additions to short-haul international routes include Delhi-Kuala Lumpur, where Air India will increase frequency from 7x to 10x weekly flights, effective November 15, and Delhi-Denpasar (Bali) where Air India will increase flights from 7x to 10x weekly flights, effective December 1, 2025.

Additions to domestic India routes include seasonal additions of flights to Rajasthan, effective October 26, and more flights to Madhya Pradesh, effective October 26, and more flights to Gujarat, effective October 26, and other frequency additions, effective October 26.

The company said its retrofit programme for its legacy Airbus A320neo aircraft, launched in September 2024, is nearing completion this month. Of the 27 legacy A320neo aircraft, 26 have been retrofitted with brand-new cabin interiors featuring three classes: business class, premium economy, and economy class. "Combined with other modern single-aisle aircraft, Air India now operates over 100 A320 Family aircraft with world-class cabin interiors, delivering a significantly enhanced travel experience on more than 80 domestic and short-haul international routes."

In September, Air India had announced to start commercial flight operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) under the Phase 1 launch of the airport. The group's low-cost airline, Air India Express, will operate over 20 daily flights (40 air traffic movements or ATMs) to over 15 cities across India. The airline group eventually plans to expand to 55 daily departures, including 5 international flights by mid-2026, and further to 60 daily departures by the second half of next calendar year.
