Renowned Indian yogi Sadhguru has unleashed a global phenomenon with the launch of his meditation app Miracle of Mind, which offers a seven-minute guided meditation to restore calm and balance. Within just 15 hours of its February 26 launch, the free app clocked over a million downloads, surpassing OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which took five days to reach the same milestone. In just two weeks, the app has already soared past 1.9 million downloads.

Born on September 3, 1957, in a Telugu-speaking family in Mysuru, Karnataka, his father, Dr B.V. Vasudev, was an ophthalmologist at Mysuru Railway Hospital, while his mother, Susheela Vasudev, managed the household. After earning a degree in English Literature from the University of Mysore, he took an unconventional career path, first running a successful poultry farm in Mysuru and later working in the construction industry with Buildaids.
In 1983, he conducted his first yoga class in Mysuru—a watershed moment that laid the foundation for a global movement in inner well-being. In 1984, he married Vijikumari, who not only shared his spiritual journey but also played a vital role in his mission. The couple welcomed their daughter, Radhe, who married acclaimed classical vocalist Sandeep Narayan in 2014. Sadhguru’s wife passed away in 1997.
In 1992, Sadhguru established the Isha Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to yoga, spiritual growth, and social upliftment. Nestled at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains in Tamil Nadu, the Isha Yoga Centre has since become a destination for seekers from around the world looking to meditate and transform their lives.
