After days of deliberation and ambiguity, U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the United States has struck three of Iran's most fortified nuclear facilities early Sunday. As per Trump's Truth Social post, the U.S. has deployed B-2 stealth bombers and submarine-launched cruise missiles in a dramatic escalation of the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

The strikes targeted Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—critical centres for uranium enrichment—using 30,000-pound "bunker buster" bombs designed to penetrate underground facilities.

"We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter," Trump wrote.

In response, Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu hailed Trump's decision, in a pre-recorded message, as a 'pivot of history,' stating, "America has done what no other country could do," while Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization condemned the "violent act" and vowed legal action in international courts. Tehran claimed it had preemptively evacuated the sites, though damage assessments remain unverified.

According to the New York Times, the operation saw six B-2 bombers fly nonstop for 37 hours from Missouri, refueling mid-air, to drop 12 massive GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOP) on Fordow, buried 90 meters beneath mountains. U.S. Navy submarines simultaneously fired 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Natanz and Esfahan.

In an address to the nation, early Sunday, Trump declared that post the U.S. operation, the nuclear facilities have been 'totally obliterated,' and further warned Iran: "If peace does not come quickly, we will go after other targets."

“Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s No. 1 state sponsor of terror,” Trump added.

In fact, in the address, after months of hesitance, Trump openly embraced Netanyahu and pointed out that the two countries have been working closely together on the Iran issue.

“I decided a long time ago that I will not let this happen,” Trump said, adding that he has been consistent on this point for decades.

“Iran, the bully of the Mideast, must now make peace,” Trump added.
