India witnessing next-generation reforms, with youth being the primary driver: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India has boarded the “Reform Express” and the country’s youth, demography, is the primary engine of the reforms. PM Modi said India is currently witnessing next generation reforms.

Addressing a conference of state chief secretaries in New Delhi themed as ‘Human capital for Viksit Bharat, PM Modi stressed on multiple points, including Aatmanirbhar Bharat, empowerment of poor, ensuring quality in service delivery and manufacturing, ease of doing business and making India a global services giant.

In his address on the concluding day of the two-day session on December 27-28, PM Modi said in a post on X, “Addressed the conference of Chief Secretaries. This year’s theme was ‘Human Capital for Viksit Bharat.’ Shared my thoughts on how we can collectively work to make India Aatmanirbhar, empower the poor and realise our dream of a Viksit Bharat.”

Quality paramount

“This conference of Chief Secretaries has taken place at a time when India is witnessing next-generation reforms. India has boarded the Reform Express and the primary engine of this Reform Express is India’s youth, our demography. That is why, it is our endeavour to empower this,” PM Modi said in the post.

Modi stressed on the importance of quality. “Quality in governance. Quality in delivery. Quality in manufacturing. Let’s work towards making the label ‘Made in India’ synonymous with quality and strengthening our commitment to ‘Zero Effect, Zero Defect’,” Modi said.

“Highlighted key steps taken to create a new work culture in matters of governance and service delivery. Also talked about integrating the latest technology to bring a positive difference in the lives of people. There were also discussions on skill development, higher education, youth empowerment, sports and more,” he added in the post.

India as global services giant

“Called upon states to encourage manufacturing, boost ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and strengthen the services sector. Let us aim to make India a Global Services Giant,” he added in the post.

“India has the potential to become the world’s food basket. We must move towards high-value agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries. This is how India can become a major food exporter,” the post said.
