Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The meeting's theme, 'Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047', emphasises the pivotal role of states in India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, according to a release by PIB.

The agenda includes discussions on how states can leverage their unique strengths to drive grassroots-level transformations. States are encouraged to formulate long-term, inclusive vision documents with time-bound targets, focusing on areas such as human development, economic growth, sustainability, technology, and governance reforms. Emphasis will also be placed on data-driven processes and outcome-based transformations, supported by mechanisms like Project Monitoring Units and ICT-enabled infrastructure.

“The idea of Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat is a call for States to craft bold, long-term, and inclusive vision documents aligned with national priorities yet grounded in local realities. These visions must include time-bound targets. States must leverage their unique geographic and demographic advantages while focusing on human development, economic growth, sustainability, technology, and governance reforms,” says the release.
