The Next 500 annual summit is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of the companies that make it to our annual Next 500 list. To put it in context, The Next 500 and the Fortune India 500 list together rank India’s 1,000 largest companies.
The interesting thing about this year’s Next 500 list is that 118 companies have fallen off the list, either because they have grown into the Fortune India 500 or because they are just not big enough anymore.
In its fourth year, the total revenue of the Next 500 companies grew by a little over Rs 1,181 crore. But, total profit grew by over Rs 1,290 crore in the four years. Interestingly, things are looking up on the profitability front as the 2018 list saw an annual growth of 43.2% against an annual 2.6% growth in revenue, compared to 2015.
