Being a tech lifer: SAP Labs India's Sindhu Gangadharan

Sindhu Gangadharan, managing director and SVP, SAP Labs India, has been with the group for 22 years. After starting off at the then small Bengaluru office in 1999, she spent 18 years at the headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. That is when she worked across board areas. Her last role in Germany was to run SAP’s Strategic Intelligence Program. Now, she heads the India operations of SAP Labs. Almost 70% of India’s GDP and 50% of the taxes touches an SAP system. Considering that 94% of the world’s top 500 companies run on SAP, that’s not surprising. “We have the second-largest R&D lab outside of our headquarters and is the only hub where we have the entire portfolio covered here,” says Gangadharan.
