When Prativa Mohapatra took over as vice president and MD of Adobe India in 2021, she became the first woman to lead the company’s operations in the country. But she wasn’t stepping into just any leadership role—she was heading what has grown to become Adobe’s second-largest global base with 8,500 employees. For Mohapatra, the Indian operations represent the complete Adobe ecosystem. “Every unit of Adobe that exists—research, product development, sales, employee experience—we have representation in India,” she says. “It’s a mini microcosm of the larger Adobe.” India has emerged as Adobe’s best-performing region in APAC in recent years. But what excites her the most is the energy and the diversity of thought that comes with a multi-generational workforce. “That’s the kind of dynamic, evolving environment we thrive in,” she says.
