Notion Ink’s Adam tablet seems to have caused quite a flutter in tech circles. The competition has now moved in to nullify one of its biggest differentiators—the Pixel Qi display. Chinese communications giant ZTE’s new Light 2 uses the same display technology, which enables clear viewing even in the sun, unlike normal LCD displays. The Bangalore startup, which plunged into the thick of the tablet wars with the Adam last December, has started taking a second round of orders for the Android OS-based tablet after delivering the first round through February. Notion Ink, run by IIT Kharagpur alumnus Rohit Shravan, CEO, and a group of tech nerds, is tight-lipped about the number of units sold. The tablets are priced between $375 (about Rs 17,000) and $550.
