It has not even been more than a month since the smartphone maker Vivo dropped its Fold 5 that raked positive popular reception and now the Chinese company is back with its latest upgrade to its V series with the Vivo V60. The latest flagship is expected to arrive on August 12, the company confirmed in a post on X.
“The finish, the shine, the design, everything reflects the beauty of Auspicious Gold in the all-new vivo V60. Launching on 12th August,” the post on X said.
Here are key specifications of the phone that we know about so far
The V60 brings advanced photography capabilities with its 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera. The phone is, anyways, co-engineered with ZEISS as a result is expected to be a camera phone.
While the company talks mostly about the rear camera, it will be more exciting to see if the front camera weighs equally in, offering detailed and sharp images. The ZEISS Multifocal Portrait system allows users to switch smoothly between five focal lengths, making it easier to take high-quality portraits with natural-looking depth and cinematic colour tones. The ZEISS Style Bokeh adds a professional touch to portraits, and the AI Magic Move feature enables users to adjust and clean up photos with simple drag gestures, no third-party apps needed.
The company is positioning the smartphone as its slimmest device in the 6500 mAh battery category, and is available in three colours including Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Gray.
It features a slim quad-curved display with minimal bezels, designed for an immersive viewing experience. With an IP68 and IP69 rating, the V60 claims that it is capable of withstanding submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for two hours.
Powered by the Snapdragon® 7 Gen 4 chipset, the phone claims to deliver a 27% improvement in CPU performance and a 30% boost in GPU strength. Yet, with the current market competitors already offering the latest Snapdragon 8 and 8 Elite chipset at a subsidised price band, this seems not a lucrative differentiator for the phone.
The phone runs on Funtouch OS 15 inspired by Android 15. The price tag of the phone has not been revealed yet. One can expect this to be in the budget premium category between ₹30,000 and ₹40,000
